Glama
Natural is manufactured by Papierfabrik Schoellershammer
in Düren Germany. The mill has been owned and operated
by the Schoeller family for over seven generations and is
a leader in the manufacture of world-class translucent printing
papers.
The
Process
Glama Natural is a naturally translucent paper made from
100% cellulose fibers, which are highly refined into a
gelatin-like mass and then introduced onto the wet end
of the paper machine. The air and water are rapidly removed
to form this highly translucent paper. Through the paper
machine, the translucent fiber is firmly pressed by calendar
stacks to smooth the surface. Sizing or glue is added
to create surface strength. The paper is then dried by
ovens within the paper machine and reeled into large rolls.
